Ryzen 7 9850X3D + RTX 3060 Ti in Counter-Strike 2

Every figure below is a measurement aggregated from published review charts — the CPU's frame-rate ceiling and the GPU's frame-rate ceiling in this game, combined. Settings: Highest settings (TechPowerUp RTX 5090 review suite), Ryzen 7 9800X3D. CPU ceiling measured at 1080p, highest settings (TechPowerUp CPU suite), RTX 5090.

1080p

Strong GPU limit

Expected frame rate: 255–255 fps (measured range across sources).

CPU Ryzen 7 9850X3Dceiling ~689 fps on its own

GPU RTX 3060 Ticeiling ~255 fps on its own

The GPU side is lower by about 63.0%: the pair runs at the lower ceiling, and upgrading the other part alone would not raise it.

That range feeds a 165 Hz or faster monitor — this is high-refresh territory in this game.

Confidence: MEDIUM — based on 2 source measurements for these two parts.

1440p

Strong GPU limit

Expected frame rate: 174–174 fps (measured range across sources).

CPU Ryzen 7 9850X3Dceiling ~689 fps on its own

GPU RTX 3060 Ticeiling ~174 fps on its own

The GPU side is lower by about 74.8%: the pair runs at the lower ceiling, and upgrading the other part alone would not raise it.

That range feeds a 165 Hz or faster monitor — this is high-refresh territory in this game.

Confidence: MEDIUM — based on 2 source measurements for these two parts.

4K

Strong GPU limit

Expected frame rate: 89–89 fps (measured range across sources).

CPU Ryzen 7 9850X3Dceiling ~689 fps on its own

GPU RTX 3060 Ticeiling ~89 fps on its own

The GPU side is lower by about 87.1%: the pair runs at the lower ceiling, and upgrading the other part alone would not raise it.

That range suits a 60 Hz monitor; a high-refresh panel would be underused in this game.

Confidence: MEDIUM — based on 2 source measurements for these two parts.

No GPU measured in this game at 1440p fully clears this CPU - the strongest measured option:

RTX 5090 — ceiling ~579 fps (still the limiting side, but the highest measured ceiling) · full result
